Angels have long captured the hearts and imaginations of believers, seen as heavenly messengers and protectors working under God’s command. Among them, archangels hold a special place as leaders of the angelic host. But who are the Seven Archangels, and what do they mean for our faith today?

The remaining names come from apocryphal or mystical writings, like the Book of Enoch, which is not part of most Christian Bibles.

Controversy: What Does the Bible Say About Angels?
The Bible warns believers not to worship or overly focus on angels:
“Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you. Such a person also goes into great detail about what they have seen; they are puffed up with idle notions by their unspiritual mind” (Colossians 2:18).
Though angels serve as God’s messengers, Scripture teaches that Jesus Christ is supreme above all beings, including angels (Hebrews 1:4-14).

Regardless of their exact names or numbers, the archangels remind us of God’s care and sovereignty:

While we honor God’s messengers, we ultimately rely on Him for protection and guidance:
“Heavenly Father, thank You for Your heavenly messengers who guide and protect us. Help us stand firm like Michael, trust like Gabriel, and find healing like Raphael. Above all, remind us that You are our ultimate protector and provider. Amen.”
Why Does It Matter?
The Seven Archangels aren’t just fascinating figures from tradition; they symbolize God’s power, presence, and purpose. Their roles encourage us to trust in His provision, seek His wisdom, and find hope in His promises.
As Hebrews 1:14 reminds us: “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?”
