Candace Cameron Bure Brings Faith to Christmas Movies: “My Faith is Everything”

As the beloved “Queen of Christmas,” Candace Cameron Bure has spent the last 15 years captivating audiences with her family-friendly holiday films. Known for her role as D.J. Tanner on Full House, Bure says her greatest joy is weaving the message of the Gospel into her work, offering viewers hope through Jesus Christ.

“I love making these movies every year. It’s amazing that after 15 years, people still tune in,” Bure shared with The Christian Post. “Sharing the Gospel and reminding people of the hope in Jesus has given me fresh energy to continue creating Christmas films—not just as an actress but also as a producer.”

Having starred in numerous Hallmark Channel films, Bure transitioned in 2022 to Great American Family as its Chief Content Officer. The move aligned with her desire to work with a network prioritizing faith, family, and traditional values. “I appreciate that Great American Family viewers want more than romance—they want films that celebrate faith and the true meaning of Christmas,” she explained. “Christ was born to save us, and sharing that story is the ultimate gift.”

New Projects with a Faith-Focused Vision

Bure’s latest movie, A Christmas Less Traveled, premiered on November 16 on Great American Pure Flix. The heartfelt story follows Desi (Bure) on a journey of healing and forgiveness, guided by cassette messages from her late father. Along the way, she finds faith, hope, and a new connection with a charming stranger.

“This film is deeply emotional and resonates with themes of faith and forgiveness,” Bure said.

Her next release, Home Sweet Christmas, premieres on December 1. The rom-com reunites Bure with her longtime friend Cameron Mathison, as they play childhood friends reconnecting during the sale of a family maple sugar farm. “It feels natural, given our friendship,” Bure noted. “I hope viewers love it.”

Beyond the screen, Bure is embracing the holiday spirit through the Great American Family Christmas Festival at New York’s UBS Arena. Running from November 22 to December 29, the event features movie screenings, ice skating, and workshops—a celebration Bure calls “another way to share the magic of the season.”

Building a Legacy of Faith-Based Entertainment

Bure’s passion extends beyond acting. Through her production company, Candy Rock Entertainment, she develops faith-forward content like Unsung Hero, an award-winning film about the Smallbone family. “I love stories that invite people into the Christian faith in a non-intimidating way,” she said.

Reflecting on her career, Bure emphasized the shift in her priorities: “Acting was always my main focus, but now I’m committed to imagining and developing stories that center on faith and family. My faith is everything—it’s who I am.”

As faith-based filmmaking continues to grow, Bure is optimistic about its future. “It’s encouraging to see more inspiring stories being told,” she said. “I’m committed to creating content that uplifts and reminds people of hope, whether on the big screen or the small screen.”
